Profiles welcomes Ed Willis to the team as its new Recruitment Manager. Ed will be responsible for driving recruitment effort in each of our markets while also being a hands-on contributor. Ed comes to Profiles with 15+ years of recruitment, as well as recruitment management experience with nearly 10 of those years in the creative and marketing space.
Why Ed Joined Profiles
Ed has a passion for the creative and marketing community. Having recruited in a variety of industries, he feels nothing beats working with creatives and recruiting for marketing and creative technology positions. “There is no other group of professionals more interesting, fun, or talented to work with than the folks in this space,” Ed explained.
Favorite Part of the Marketing & Creative Recruitment Industry
Getting to really know and understand the talent he is working with is what drives Ed in his position. He enjoys developing relationships and supporting candidates throughout all the different stages of their career evolution.
Background and Contributing Strengths
Ed shares his commitment to really listening to his talent. What’s on their mind? Where have they been? Where do they want to go with their career? What’s important to them? What motivates them? He continues to explain, “only by being intensely focused on hearing what your candidates say and asking probing questions can you find the ideal match for them and your clients.” Ed also has been committed to mentoring more junior recruiters throughout his career and has received great satisfaction in helping his teams develop and grow into the best they can be.
Ed resides in the Silver Spring area, conveniently located between Profiles Baltimore and Washington, DC offices. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Penn State University. Ed, first, spent years working with at-risk children and adolescents before finding his calling in the recruitment industry. Ed is married with a four-year-old daughter. He is an avid music listener (most likely knows more about Led Zepplin than you do), and attends concerts with his mother-in-law when the chance presents itself. He grew up in the Philadelphia area, making him a huge Philly and Penn State sports fan. After honeymooning in Ireland, he has high hopes for making it back there one day.
